Come discover the beauty of Africa on this 14 Day Highlights of Kenya and Tanzania Deluxe Safari which allows you to enjoy an East African safari holiday that allows you to explore the arid northern reaches of Shaba where Joy Adamson worked, then the lush tropical forests of the Aberdare Mountains to see rare African forest animals.

Visit Lake Nakuru and take in the spectacle of thousands of Flamingos before enjoying spectacular wildlife encounters on game drives on the endless rolling plains of the Masai Mara and Serengeti. Learn about the vibrant culture of the Samburu people and the iconic Maasai tribe during cultural visits to local homesteads.

Then visit one of the iconic destinations on African safari vacations – the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest extinct volcano crater on Earth. It is home to lots of African wildlife including Buffalo and prides of Lion. Take in the beauty of the Amboseli National Park, famed for its Elephants with large tusks and views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival in Nairobi on the first day of your 14 Day Highlights of Kenya & Tanzania Deluxe Safari Package, you will be met at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport and transferred to your hotel which is synonymous with the luxury of safaris of the years gone by. You have the afternoon to relax before a pre-departure meeting is held in the evening with your safari guide. Bed and breakfast)

Day 2: Samburu, Shaba and Buffalo Springs National Reserves Lodge

In the morning on your East Africa safari leave the bustling city behind and travel to the arid region of Samburu and Shaba. These reserves are sustained by the Ewaso Ng’iro River and support a variety of wildlife – keep a lookout for the long necked Gerenuk and Oryx while on a game drive in the late afternoon. Spend the night in comfort in your luxury Kenya safari accommodation. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 3: Samburu, Shaba and Buffalo Springs National Reserves Lodge

After an early start, head out on a game drive to see the regions wildlife. In the afternoon learn about the culture of the Samburu while visiting a traditional homestead. Samburu means “the butterfly people” and they are called this due to their ornate beadwork and colourful style of dress. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 4: Aberdare National Park Lodge

In the morning leave Samburu behind and drive to the lush mountains of Aberdare, stopping off en-route at the Aberdare Country Club for a tasty lunch. In the afternoon and early evening relax at your Kenya safari accommodation and delight in some of the best game viewings of African forest animals as they come to drink at the waterhole in front of the lodge. Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park Lodge

Today you’ll travel to Lake Nakuru National Park where you can see the thousands of Flamingos that feed in the shallow waters along its shores. This is also one of the best places in Kenya to see White Rhino. After lunch and some time to settle in set out on a game drive to explore the reserve. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve Lodge

Leaving Lake Nakuru behind today you’ll travel to one of the most famous safari regions in Africa, the rolling plains of the Masai Mara, famed as the site of the Great Migration which sees up to 2 million Wildebeest moving in a cycle in search of fresh grazing. In the afternoon set out on a game drive in search of the regions abundant wildlife. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve Lodge

On this day of your East African safari you can opt to start the day with an amazing early morning hot air balloon ride just over the savannah or really get to grips with Africa while on a walking safari led by a knowledgeable guide. Otherwise set out on morning and afternoon game drives to see the abundant wildlife that call the Mara home. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 8: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast on this day you will cross the border from Kenya into Tanzania. This region is called the Serengeti, but really it forms part of the same ecosystem as the Masai Mara. There will be plenty of plains game and the tour will stop off for lunch before enjoying a game drive en route to the lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

Today the tour moves on to another region of the Serengeti. Due to the abundance of plains game the Serengeti is believed to be home to the largest Lion population in Africa and you are sure to see many of these big cats as well as other predators. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 10: Serengeti National Park

Once again in the morning you have the optional extra opportunity of taking to the air and doing your game viewing with a bird’s eye view of the dramas playing out down below during an early morning hot air balloon safari or experience the thrill of walking among the wildlife during a morning bush walk. Otherwise set out to explore the region on morning and afternoon game drives. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

In the morning set out into the Serengeti on a game drive before travelling to the Olduvai Gorge where many important fossil finds relating to human history have been found. Then travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will descend into the crater and delight in exciting wildlife encounters during an afternoon game drive. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 12: Ngorongoro Conservation Area/ Lake Manyara

Today will be leisurely, there is some time to relax and enjoy a lingering breakfast before travelling to Lake Manyara for an afternoon game drive. The lake is known to be a refuge for migratory birds and Baboons are commonly seen around its shores. Hemmingway called it “the most beautiful Lake in Africa”. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 13: Amboseli National Park Lodge

After breakfast today you will travel to the border via Arusha, cross the border into Kenya and enter the Amboseli National Park. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful stops on African safari vacations, with its scenic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After settling in and tucking into lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive. The Park is famous for its Elephants with large tusks. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 14: Nairobi

On the final day of your East Africa Safari you will enjoy a game drive in Amboseli National Park before being driven to Nairobi where you will enjoy lunch before being driven to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward travel arrangements. (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
